How's Wife?
6 months ago Jennifer O’Sullivan bagged herself the prize that every self-help-book-respecting woman craves - a husband. But no one clarified what she was supposed to do with him after the honeymoon...

A milestone
I have become a lipstick-wearer.
It has been a longtime coming - for years I have embraced mascara, a dusting of eye shadow, and black eyeliner. However I've only ever rocked the chapstick/lipgloss look on my wee mouth.
That changed on Wednesday - I wore bright red lipstick during an improv performance. For the whole night. Then on Thursday I put it on again while at work. And today and yesterday I put on a different shade, but still definitely lipstick.
What is it that is so awesome about having bright, kissy lips? My whole outfit feels more dressed up now. I like smushing my lips together and feeling the lipstick there. I like the smell of this Elizabeth Arden lipstick I've had for way too long.
Sadly the husband is not so much of an enthusiast about the old lippy. He's not keen on the colour transfer, or the greasy feel on his lips, or the taste of the 'gunk'.
So why do I wear it anyway? Bad wife! Surely I should want my husband to kiss me! Meh. I will just kiss him anyway and make him deal :)
On a side note, I just googled "why women wear red lipstick" and found the following answers:

On a side note, I just googled "why women wear red lipstick" and found the following answers:
"Because red is a color that makes women more sensual, energetic, sexy, and more bolder."Red = magic
"because one time a long time ago a lady had her peroid and the guys liked kissing the lips of her vagina while they were red and so the ladies made the lips of their mouth red also to make their husbands happy. This isn't a joke. Yeah it is.
this isnt a joke. my ap psycology teacher taught this to us."
"Because it grabs mens attention. And well lips make u think of kissing, kissing of touching, and touching of love. "Well lips? Do you mean healthy? What? Also I love everything I touch. And everything I do is to grab men's attention.
"Actually...I found the real reason when I was looking around online, and it's nothing to do with sex.I like this reason. I like my mum.
Stage actresses wore red lipstick because it looks good under limelight and can be easily seen at the back of the theatre. Movie actresses in the early days wore red lipstick because it worked well in black & white and in Technicolor...and because movie actresses worked on the stage too. And just like today, women modeled their makeup after their favorite actresses' looks.
These days, women wear red lipstick because their mom (who worked hard to look like her favorite actress) wore red lipstick...because they like it...and because, sometimes, it's the right color to wear. Try pulling off a bright-red sweater if you're wearing coral lipstick. Can't be done."
The husband agrees with you.
"I have no idea, it looks stupid, its very undesireable to men cause it looks gross, and it never made them look prettier."
